- ČR holds the 1st place in Europe for the number of children between 0 - 3 years old placed in institutional care facilities. In the Czech Republic some 8,000 children are being raised in children´s homes.
- As many as 30% of children in institutional care graduate from special schools.
- Only 1% of children in institutional care receive an education that concludes with a regular high school diploma.
- One of the most fundamental problems of these children is when they leave the children´s homes at the age of 18, they cannot find a place in the labour market and in life generally.
